There was a lot of drama brewing during the Wednesday, January 15 episode of Days of Our Lives. Leo thought Lady Whistleblower was, once again, Javi. So what is he going to do about it? EJ cooked up a plan for Arnold. Is this about getting revenge on Jada for firing him as DA? And Sarah doubled down on keeping the forged letter secret from her husband, which felt like the smart move…for now.
Make Peace, Not War
On Wednesday, Philip’s (John-Paul Lavoisier) initial state of mind at the office was panic. He envisioned Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) telling Xander (Paul Telfer) about his fraudulent letter, which would result in Xander storming into Titan, ready to kill. Instead, the co-CEO armed himself with a Sweet Bits croissant, his version of a peace offering.
It took Philip a minute to realize that he didn’t need to imagine the worst-case scenario. Instead, the half-brothers had a good talk. Xander told Philip that he promised Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) and his wife that he would play nice. As for Philip, he gave Xander a peek into his not-so-traditional upbringing with Victor (the late John Aniston). They seemed to bond over the fact that they were both disappointments to their father.
The Xander and Philip scenes were nice. However, they were based on lies. The peace is shaky, considering the big secret Sarah, Stephanie (Abigail Klein), and Kate (Lauren Koslow) are all keeping from Xander.

Secret Boundaries
Later in the episode, Sarah showed up at Titan. Xander was in the break room — which meant he could be back any second. Yet, Sarah decided to fill Philip in on her decision not to tell her husband about the forged letter anyway.
She told the co-CEO that she would keep the secret and that Stephanie would also keep the betrayal from Xander. Of course, he appreciated their discretion. But Sarah told him that there was a condition.
Philip would have to agree to work with Xander, not against him. He needed to refrain from being a thorn in Xander’s side, or this deal would be severed, and she would tell her husband everything. And Philip knows exactly what that means.
Just how long can this secret stay a secret? There are too many variables that can end this shaky detente. The biggest variable? Vivian (Louise Sorel). She’s a wild card that shouldn’t be forgotten or underestimated. Just when there’s a lull, and everybody’s happy, she’ll show up and blow it all up.
