James Read OUT as Days of our Lives Baddie Clyde Weston

Did Clyde meet his maker on this week’s episode of Days of our Lives? It sure seems so! Clyde stared down the barrel of Catharina’s gun as she got her revenge. Sadly, this means the end for Clyde and, thus, his portrayer, James Read. 

Goodbye…For Now…

According to Soap Opera Digest, Read is officially out as evildoer Clyde Weston. The publication confirmed his exit from the soap…at least for now. Clyde may seem dead, but we all know the good (and bad) people of Salem don’t always stay six feet under.

Read came onto the show back in 2014 and was first linked with Lauren Koslow’s Kate. It was later revealed he was the father to serial killer turned lover boy Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and had a whole unsavory history of abusing Jordan (Chrishell Stause) when he was raising her. 

Throughout his time on the show, Clyde was never fully redeemed but was accepted at various times. He got in good with Nancy Wesley (Patrika Darbo) for a time while he romanced her. That all fell apart, though, when his thievery and shady behavior came to light. 

Taking Secrets To The Grave

In recent months, he’s played hardball with Chad (Billy Flynn) and the Greene family by intermingling their lives in the most horrific ways. While his underhanded games worked for a while, it sure has cost him in the end (or has it?). 

What does this mean for Chad in his race to find out what happened to Abigail’s body (if his wife really is dead, that is)? What Chad wants most is answers. He’s not getting them from Cat (AnnaLynne McCord); he’s now not getting them from Clyde. The best he can hope for is Catharina (Susan Elena Matus) having some insight that could get him on the road to finding the love of his life.
