Has it really been since New Year’s Eve that Days of Our Lives fans have seen Tate and Holly in the same room? Since Holly’s overdose, she was in a coma in Salem, then in Italy at a special medical facility, and then back in Salem at the DiMera mansion where she woke up. Meanwhile, Tate was arrested and sent to Statesville, then a juvenile rehab facility, and then finally, a halfway house within Salem town limits. Separately, the two have been through a lot. Their reunion in the Monday, March 11, 2024, episode was a long time coming.
The Bittersweet Reunion
As if this were happening straight out of Romeo and Juliet, Tate (Jamie Martin Mann) appeared outside Holly’s (Ashley Puzemis) window and, for the. moment, nobody was the wiser. Holly and Tate shared a grand reunion in which Tate swept Holly up in a kiss. Who knew he had that in him? Things were looking up for the couple until they got into the nitty gritty of what happened the night Holly OD’d. But, also what happened since she fell into a coma. Obviously, EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) haven’t been forthcoming with the details.
Immediately, Holly apologized for not listening to Tate that fateful night. She thought the drugs were harmless and she took the drugs despite his warnings. Tate realized Holly didn’t know the full story. So he told her everything — that EJ blamed Tate for giving her the laced opiates and had him arrested for drug possession. Subsequently, he was sent to jail, the juvie facility, and the halfway house.
Moreover, he needed her help to clear his name so he could go home. Unfortunately, Holly said she couldn’t give him what he wanted. If she did, it meant her mom would be so disappointed, not just in her but in herself. She’d think she failed as a mother. After all, Holly overheard Nicole tell EJ as much. She’ll say anything but admit to those drugs being hers. As Tate (get to know more about Jamie Martin Mann here) continued to plead his case with Holly, someone was at the door.

Soap Hub hit the X/Formerly known as Twitter to find out what DAYS fans think about the Tate/Holly reunion. @abetterlizard, who regularly tweets her thoughts about each episode, concluded that Tate and Holly “are IT.”
@StephenK7 pretty much concurs with Liz. He feels that “the chemistry between Tate and Holly is undeniable.” But he’s also well aware the future for the two will be bumpy. Steven hopes “Once Tate has his name cleared we get to see more of them together. They’ve the potential to be the next great couple. #Days #Tally”

Meanwhile, @dianeleigh007 enjoyed the Tate and Holly scenes; however, she couldn’t help but think about the future. She says, “Just not looking forward to EJ swooping in and continuing to try to ruin Tate’s life. EJ vs a teenage boy is not entertaining. #Days”
Here’s someone a little upset with Holly’s choices. Can you blame her? @Walkerclanfan says, “Holly is being beyond selfish! You don’t just sacrifice your mate/potential love interest’s freedom and future because you’re worried your mom will be disappointed in you #Days.”
Finally, @lcsoaptweets is a big fan of Tate and Holly, and she thinks they “have ‘it.’ The show really needs to invest in their characters. #Days”
