Linda Dano, beloved as Felicia Gallant on Another World and who popped up a short while ago as Vivian Alamain on Days of our Lives, uses modern technology to reconnect with her loyal fan base.
Linda Dano: In With Linda
Soap Hub sat down with the Daytime Emmy winner as she discussed reconnecting with devoted daytime viewers.
Dano admits to being challenged at times with modern technology (who isn’t at times?), but that hasn’t stopped her from joining the world of podcasts. “A dear friend encouraged me to do one as it’s a way to talk to all my old friends,” the actress shares. “She said the fans, once they know I’m doing this, will be all over it. I hope so! The fans have such an undying love for Another World after all these years. Stephen [Schnetzer, ex-Cass] and I talk about that a lot.”
Remembering Brent Davis and Wallingford and More
You can check out Dano’s podcast IN with LINDA DANO here. She’s got about a dozen or so shows already completed with AW pals Schnetzer, Anna Holbrook (ex-Sharlene), and Alicia Coppola (ex-Lorna). Dano spoke to Holbrook about the powerful but controversial triangle with Felicia/John/Sharlene, which led to Daytime Emmy gold for Holbrook, who won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 1996.
“I have Cameron [Mathison, Drew, General Hospital] on my list,” Dano says of her wish list for her podcast guests. “He is the kindest man.” Speaking of kind, Dano wants to use her podcast to pay tribute to dear, late AW co-star Brent Collins (ex-Wallingford) next month in honor of her late pal’s birthday. What was Wallingford’s appeal to viewers? “He was the kindest, most generous man I have ever known,” Dano says. “If Wallingford or Brent became a friend of yours, he was a friend for life. I felt safe with him. I could say anything to him. He was there for me, and I was there for him. He, Stephen, and I were a threesome. It went way beyond acting.”
Linda Dano: Coming in 2024
Dano’s also partnering with Coastal Entertainment and will participate in a Zoom event with them on Sunday, January 21. Click here for info on how you can attend. “When I travel a bit, I’m reminded that [daytime fans] are the absolute rock I stood on as an actor,” Dano praises. “They were always so generous. I will answer everything truthfully [in the Zoom]. I’m very excited about it. (Laughs) I will say things I probably shouldn’t! But why not? I’m really looking forward to it.”
