Fans rejoiced at the end of Friday’s Days of Our Lives episode when Emily O’Brien returned as Theresa. As the drama around Tate and Sophia’s baby unfolds, the young man will probably need his mother to guide him. However, Theresa’s known for making extraordinarily bad decisions, so maybe her return will bring more problems than solutions. O’Brien opened up about getting back into action as Theresa and more.
She’s Back in the Wig
Apparently, forging a letter claiming Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) was the true Kiriakis heir doesn’t warrant much jail time in Salem. Theresa’s back, and O’Brien spoke with Soaps.com about getting enmeshed in the current drama as Tate (Leo Howard) and Sophia (Rachel Boyd) try to find an adoptive couple to give their baby to. After Theresa’s last departure, O’Brien was surprised that she would be returning so soon and explained when she was asked, “I said, ‘Yeah, sure,’ and there I was, back in the wig, back in the heels, back in Salem.”
Theresa never liked Holly (Ashley Puzemis) and always opposed her and Tate dating. Moreover, she’s just finding out that Tate got Sophia pregnant. Until now, Mom hasn’t had much say on that topic. “There’s only so much you can do when you’re in prison, right?” She further explained that Theresa would continue her campaign to keep Holly and Tate apart, and even though she had a major timeout in jail, she hasn’t changed her tune.

No Time Has Passed
According to O’Brien, Brady (Eric Martsolf) had been updating Theresa on what was happening in Tate’s life, but not exactly everything. She stated, “Obviously, Sophia was pregnant, so she just assumes, ‘All right, he’s moved on from Holly to Sophia.’” But at the end of the day, O’Brien explained that Theresa supports Tate no matter what, and now he’s got the big issue of being a father to grapple with if the adoption doesn’t ever happen.

O’Brien likened returning to the show as “riding a bike.” She stated it took her some time to get back into the groove, but she ultimately found her footing, feeling as if “No time has even passed.” With Brady and Ava’s (Tamara Braun) romance losing some momentum when she was kidnapped by Rachel Blake (Roslyn Gentle) — who’s pushing to reunite Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and Brady — he’s going to have his hands full now that Theresa’s back.
