Paulina was at death’s door for weeks on Days of our Lives. Yet, when it looked like she was finally about to cross over into the Great Beyond, who should pop up (down?) for an Earthly visit than Abe’s wife, Lexie, mother of his son, Theo. Plus, Paulina and Abe discussed her amazing healing with Kate and Roman on the Tuesday, March 19 episode of DAYS.
Was Lexie (Renée Jones) here for Abe (James Reynolds)? Well, kind of. She did help him get his memory back. And she reminded them of their past together, their love, and their son. So far, so good. And then she urged Abe to focus on the new love of his life, Paulina (Jackée Harry).
Abe confessed to Roman (Josh Taylor) that he felt somewhat disloyal to Paulina after remembering Lexie, but Roman encouraged his friend to move forward and enjoy what he has with Paulina. Of course, matters took a turn for the…peculiar when Abe felt these feelings.

Because if Heaven is real, and the dead really do get to reunite with their passed-on loved ones, what happens when…there’s more than one? Before this, we could have taken solace from the knowledge that Abe and Lexie would be reunited in death. But where will that leave Paulina? And if it’s Abe and Paulina for eternity, where does that leave Lexie…and Paulina’s late husband, Chanel’s (Raven Bowens, who fans love) father?
Are there love triangles in Heaven? Love squares? Love dodecahedrons? Doesn’t sound very peaceful, does it? Definitely not very peaceful. We suppose that maybe, in Heaven, Lexie and Paulina each get their own copy of Abe, like a clone with all of his previous memories. And Abe and Paulina’s former spouse each get their own Paulina. The mathematical possibilities of such a scenario seem endless. Heaven will run out of room in no time!
Of course, there is yet another possibility. Fans may fight over who the One True Pairing will turn out to be. They may even say, “God knows.” Well, what if God does know? What if, when you get to Heaven, God tells you who you will spend the rest of eternity with? You don’t get a vote. Then, of course, we’re stuck with a scenario here: A is the true love of B, But B is the true love of C. Then what? It’s all too complicated. Might as well go to Hell and avoid all the drama…but that wouldn’t be very soapy, would it?
