These days, quite a few people have created fun and informative podcasts, including soap stars who enjoy talking about their interests. Days of Our Lives stars are no exception. Greg Vaughan and former The Young and the Restless star James Hyde have collaborated on a new podcast and shared it with fans.

Old Friends, New Games

Vaughan, who plays Eric on DAYS, spoke to Digital Journal about his new venture with his old friend, James Hyde — Y&R villain, Jeremy Stark. “Sports are so important to James Hyde and myself, and we relate to them very well, and so do our kids. Culture-wise, sports are important because they build young men to become better men,” Vaughan explained.

He credited Hyde with coming up with their podcast concept, called College Football Trash Talk with James & Greg. And he remarked that the two have had a great friendship for three decades. “I thought it would be awesome, and we decided to do it for fun on our social media platforms,” he stated, adding, “We try to keep that high energy that we have and the hype.” He cited college football as being their favorite thing to discuss. He’s glad that they can reach men and women of all ages.

Fans Love the Sports Talk, Too

In a separate interview with Digital Journal, Hyde explained that over eleven weeks, the two had recorded nine podcasts and were unveiling their first interview. The Passions alum stated: “Greg and I would always talk about college football in our text messages, and we’ve had so much fun doing that. So, we decided to do our own show.” He loves creating new concepts to talk about with Vaughan. (Find out what happened to Jeremy on Y&R.)

Hyde further explained that college football is so much more than a competition. It also involves the whole family. He noted the following statistics for viewers: “Each week, every college stadium is sold out with nearly 80,000 fans as they are watching college football.” In addition, the actor remarked that the two would share their opinions on various college games without “giving any advice on spreads.” Hyde also shared that at fan events the fans don’t just love talking soaps with them, they also enjoy the sports conversations.
