It was a shocker for Days of our Lives fans to learn that Leo Stark and Gwen Rizczech already knew each other, but for fans of the actors in question, this was old news since the two once played husband and wife on The Young and the Restless. Greg Rikaart couldn’t be more thrilled to be reunited with Emily O’Brien!
When the two showed their oodles of chemistry in Genoa City, fans of the couple were crushed when O’Brien’s Jana Hawkes went a little nuts on Rikaart’s Kevin Fisher. This one adorable couple was blown apart, leaving viewers wanting more — and perhaps the actors as well. Now flash forward to Salem — and these two get to play onscreen together again, thrilling the actor!
“Playing Leo is like a gift horse,” wrote Rikaart on Twitter. “Getting to work with [Emily O’Brien] again is like looking that gift horse in the mouth but instead of something bad happening, the horse just opens his mouth and gives you another gift. 🐴❤️👫#days ⏳”
In Salem, their two characters are looking to get married — just not to each other this time. Leo is hoping to marry Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas) while Gwen is rushing her beloved Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) down the aisle as fast as she can before he learns the truth about what she did to his true love, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey). Will either marriage happen or will these two schemers see their lives blown up?
Either way, fans can look forward to seeing these two continue to share the screen together this week and into the next. Jackie Cox, who is returning to the Salem scene as herself, responded to Greg Rikaart by saying, “Leo is the gift that keeps on giving to us all! 💖” That sentiment certainly echoes the feelings of many Days of our Lives fans.
