February is traditionally a month that soaps spice things up a bit more as the shortest month of the year is a time when advertisers pay extra attention to the ratings. There’s plenty of drama, romance, and action happening on your favorite shows — The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless.
February Sweeps Preview
The current issue of TV Guide Magazine (cover dated Jan. 29-Feb. 18), now on sale, contains some major previews. Here’s what soap fans can expect to see in the coming weeks.
The Bold and the Beautiful: What’s a young love story without some conflict? One couple finds their romance taking an unexpected turn. If they’re not careful, then everything could change! Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) remains determined to make Hope (Annika Noelle) his wife. But Xander (Adain Bradley), who believes Thomas is responsible for poor Emma’s (Nia Sioux) death, could wreak havoc on the couple’s passion.
Days of our Lives: Stephanie (Abigail Klein), Wendy (Victoria Grace), and Tripp (Lucas Adams) put together a special Valentine’s Day. John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) celebrate their romance. Theresa (Emily O’Brien) locates something in Alex’s (Robert Scott Wilson) pocket — an engagement ring! One couple heads towards the altar, while Stephanie has an awkward anniversary breakfast surprise for her parents Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans).
General Hospital: A man from the past returns to Port Charles. A former couple rekindles their romance.
The Young and the Restless: Victor (Eric Braeden) has the ability to give his wife Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) anything for Valentine’s Day, but what he promises to do is to protect her from Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk). How much is Christine (Lauralee Bell) supposed to put up with when it comes to her ex-husband Danny (Michael Damian) and his ex-wife Phyllis (Michelle Stafford)? It’s a question worth addressing. Speaking of triangles, Daniel (Michael Graziadei) can’t make up his mind between Heather (Vail Bloom) and Lily (Christel Khalil). Adam (Mark Grossman) and Sally (Courtney Hope) might make a go of it.
