Mysteries Are Front and Center
DAYS co-head writers Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford spoke to TV Insider about what fans expect from fall in Salem. It should surprise no one that Belle (Martha Madison) and Chad’s (Conner Floyd) cheesbard mystery investigation will continue to be a focus this fall. Marlena (Deidre Hall) also gets sucked into it more than she ever wanted.
Ford and Cwikly reveal that a discovery in this mystery will forever change Chad and Belle’s families and life in Salem. Marlena’s fear that their search opens Pandora’s box is spot on, but it’s too late to change the outcome.
Speaking of mystery, a stranger arrives in Salem, and his arrival impacts several residents. ““The character has several strong ties to the current canvas and impacts many storylines,” the head writers shared with TV Insider.
DAYS fans can expect EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) to continue to be involved in everything, including a relationship with Cat (AnnaLynne McCord). However, the many secrets EJ’s keeping will come back to haunt him, and that’s not all. Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) resurfaces, and she’s not alone when she comes back.
Love and Heartache Take Over Salem
There is plenty of love drama in Salem in the fall. Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) can’t escape her feelings for Xander (Paul Telfer), even as she becomes more committed to Brady (Eric Martsolf). The two men work together when Sarah faces attacks professionally and personally, but it’s Xander who “risks everything for Sarah” in her time of need.
Another trio filled with chaos is Alex (Robert Scott Wilson), Stephanie (Abigail Klein), and Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins). After Alex gives in to Joy’s latest demand to keep Stephanie from their daughter, Joy appears to be close to getting her man. Alex, though, drops a bombshell on her that changes everything as Stephanie’s suspicions over Joy’s actions mount.
Johnny (Carson Boatman), Chanel (Raven Bowens), Abe (James Reynolds), and Paulina (Jackée Harry) all work to rebuild the trust in their relationships. Love isn’t the problem for these duos. It’s honesty and dealing with heartbreak.
Not everyone is having issues in the love department. Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) and Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) are closer than ever as she helps him fight to save Titan. It’s about time they found their way back together.
More Salem Teasers
“The Kiriakises are determined to take a page from the DiMera playbook and rise from the ashes, rebuilding from scratch if necessary. They come together as a family and try some very unorthodox ways to keep the wolf from the door,” Cwikly and Ford teased, making it clear the Titan drama is far from over.
They also hinted that adventure is on the horizon for many fan favorites. There are also several familiar faces headed back to town, but they are keeping that a secret for now. It has been revealed that Sydney (Sydney Malakeh) returns older and maybe not so wise based on the DAYS preview video.
