Eric Brady was a priest and is currently a photographer. Lately, he’s been acting more like a private detective. In the Wednesday, October 9 episode of Days of Our Lives, he hopes to keep Brady from spending ten years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. While viewers know that Fiona is the culprit, Eric is only starting to realize that she’s the key to breaking this case wide open.
It had to be hard for Eric (Greg Vaughan) to watch a resigned Brady (Eric Martsolf) worry about spending the next ten years in jail. He doesn’t believe Brady did it, and he wants to prove it. After a talk with Roman (Josh Taylor), he realizes that Fiona (Serena Scott Thomas) is sketchy and needs to know her story. He heads over to Small Bar to question the waiter, who confirms Brady was there with Fiona the night of the hit and run.
Unfortunately, Eric must not know about Fiona’s alcohol issues because if he did, he would have asked the waiter a pertinent question. Was Fiona drinking with Brady? Instead, he’ll have to settle with seeing what he can get out of her. Fiona’s good at keeping quiet, but there’s a good reason why she might either slip up or somehow make Eric even more suspicious of her.

Earlier in the episode, Fiona witnessed Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) struggling to care for Victoria. All she needed to do was pick up a toy that her daughter had thrown, but she couldn’t. Instead, Fiona helped her out. This made Sarah hella frustrated and overwhelmed, causing her to break down.
Before Fiona entered the room, she genuinely looked guilty. So maybe she’s not a monster after all. She loves the life she’s leading now, and she’s working to repair her relationship with Xander (Paul Telfer).
But seeing Sarah struggle actually seemed to penetrate her cold demeanor. She even visited Brady, who apparently lives in the PCPD’s interrogation room. She planned to come clean, but Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) ruined that moment.
It will be Eric’s job to get a savvy Fiona to break a little—even just a sliver of a moment—so that he and Brady can connect the dots. Then, Brady will finally realize that he’s not the guilty party. After all, Tate (Leo Howard) already has one parent in jail. He can’t lose both to the prison system.

One note: According to teasers and preview photos, Eric was supposed to confront Melinda over her role in the baby switch. Unfortunately, that scene didn’t appear in the episode. The show must have cut it for time. Hopefully, we’ll be able to see that scene.
