In the Friday, July 25 episode of Days of Our Lives, Susan felt strange vibes from Marlena. Gabi and Gwen faced off in Horton Town Square. While several moments turned out to be emotional moments of goodness, one made us unexpectedly emotional.
Emotional Moment #1: Belle Supports Marlena
After passing out in the courtroom, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) checked out Marlena (Deidre Hall) at the hospital, and once again, everything seemed fine, except for an elevated blood pressure. But that could be written off to stress and not eating, and general grief.
At home, their conversation veered into the emotional when they were sitting on the couch. Belle (Martha Madison) wanted to make sure she supported her mom through this devastating moment in her life. She lost the love of her life, and Belle felt they didn’t talk about the loss enough.
Instead, Marlena has remained stoic, and the good doctor said that’s because she’s trying to emulate John. He was stoic, after all. Belle said she was also trying to emulate her father, who was always there for Marlena. It was such a touching scene and continued to show Marlena’s grieving process.

Emotional Moment #2: Rachel Suggests that Tate’s Daughter Should Be Named McKenzie
The show is really playing up the connection between Rachel (Alice Halsey) and Sarah. At the hospital, Rachel, Sarah, and Brady (Eric Martsolf) talked about Tate’s (Leo Howard) “daughter” being born. And Rachel is super happy that there’s another girl in the family.
She said there were too many boys. She also said she hoped that they name the baby McKenzie, which is what Sarah and Eric (Greg Vaughan) had named her when they thought she was their child.
It made Sarah super emotional and highlighted why she has such a positive connection with Rachel.

Emotional Moment #3: Doug III Returns the Necklace to Julie and Says Goodbye Before Leaving Town
This turned out to be an unexpectedly emotional moment — at least for us. For one, Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) had shunned Doug III (Peyton Meyer) for months. They have barely had any interactions. And when they did, she was extremely hostile to him and for good reason.
But on Friday, he showed up at her door to tell her goodbye and right a wrong. He gave her back the necklace he had stolen way back when. Of course, to do so, he had to steal it from Gwen’s (Emily O’Brien) safe in her room at the Salem Inn.
These scenes reminded us how well Peyton Meyer and Susan Seaforth Hayes play off of each other. And it made us sad that their characters didn’t make up sooner. After Doug III handed her the necklace back, Julie finally thawed and let Doug into her home so he could help her with the necklace. Then she gave him something of Doug’s to take with him, which was super sweet.
And Julie told Doug to get in touch with her once he leaves town and let her know how much he owes the loan sharks. Because she will get him the money so he can pay those goons off once and for all. But she also made him promise to get his life together. And once he does, he should come back because he has so much potential.
Doug said he will periodically check in with her as well, and then he left.

- What kind of vibes did Susan (Stacy Haiduk) get from Marlena? Stefano vibes? That flashback was telling…
- Will Julie flaunt the necklace in front of Gwen? She needs to after all of Gwen’s flaunting.
