It’s been hilarious watching Arnold Feniger, who looks and sounds just like Rafe, making EJ’s life hell on Days of Our Lives. The real Rafe is imprisoned in the DiMera secret room while good old Arnie has been masquerading as the former police commissioner. EJ tasked Arnold with disseminating fake news that the current commissioner, Jada, is corrupt. Arnold brought that up just as Jada and “Rafe” were at the altar getting married. Jada’s portrayer, Elia Cantu, opened up about how, while Jada’s been fooled, she’s not a fool.
She’s Very Perceptive
Cantu spoke with Soap Opera Digest about the whole Arnold/Rafe (Galen Gering) fiasco and explained that she wasn’t sad because Rafe and Jada would invariably not get married. She considered it an honor to be among the DAYS wedding couples who famously walked down the aisle only to have something stop the proceedings at the last minute.
She noted that Jada is very perceptive and on top of things. And while Arnold has been pretending to be Rafe, she knew something wasn’t right. “I didn’t want to just throw away her common sense,” Cantu said, further describing who Jada is: “Jada’s been very sharp since the moment she came on the screen. She’s always been very two steps ahead. She’s an overthinker. She’s very thorough and methodical.”

She Convinced Herself Her Feelings Were Just Jitters
Jada thought her unease was due to “pre-wedding jitters,” and her friends convinced her that’s what was wrong. Jada was thrilled to finally be marrying the love of her life. And so Cantu explained how her character talked herself out of thinking something wasn’t right. “She was telling herself she was wrong, and she wasn’t. She just wanted to go on with the wedding,” Cantu stated.

Cantu also remarked that because Jada had previously been through a horrible marriage with Bobby (Blake Berris), being left at the altar pushed her over the edge. “She’s just humiliated. That’s the word. She’s humiliated, and she’s hurt. It feels like a horrible dream to her,” she stated.
