Days of Our Lives viewers were elated to see Elani back in Salem, even if it was only for Thanksgiving and to support Julie during her time of need. However, Lani and Eli alluded to the fact that they may make Salem their home again…down the road. Could a longer-term stay be in their future? Sal Stowers, who plays Lani Grant, recently addressed this potential.
During their conversation with Abe (James Reynolds) and Paulina (Jackée Harry), Eli (Lamon Archey) and Lani (Sal Stowers) broke the news that Lani was about to start a part-time job that keeps her close to her kids. Plus, Eli loves his FBI gig and isn’t ready to give it up for a return to the Salem PD. So that ruled out the two moving back to Salem for now. But they did promise that a move could happen someday.
“We’ll figure it out. We’ll be back one day,” Stowers recently told Soap Opera Digest. “I can’t tell you how many people are like, ‘When are you guys coming back? We miss you. You’re what’s missing from the show. We want you back.”
Hearing that makes the actress feel good. And that’s why she and her TV husband, Lamon Archey, will stay loyal to the show. They love their characters, they love the people they work with when they are fliming DAYS. And the thought of returning is always in the back of their minds. It’s what keeps them showing up for short-term stints when the soap’s casting director reaches out to them.

“It’s always a yes,” Towers explained. “That’s just because of my love for the show, and I am the actress that I am today because of this show. So I could never say no to it.”
Currently, Stowers is wowing viewers as Penelope on Tyler Perry’s Sistas, which airs on BET. But returning to DAYS short-term or long-term isn’t something she’s ruling out. “That’s definitely an option for me to go back full-time,” she said. “Lani is a special part of Salem and the DAYS family,” Stowers added. “So speaking for myself and I think Lamon too, we both would be honored to get to come back and work for whatever that consists of.”
