Who knows if Rafe was serious about the alliance he proposed to EJ in the Monday, January 6 episode of Days of Our Lives. It was a desperate act so the Black Patch detective could get out of the DiMera dungeon. And even though Rafe could easily double-cross EJ, the former Salem DA should have agreed to it anyway. It was the smart move.
Doppelganger Disaster
How do you solve a problem like Arnold Feniger (Galen Gering)? It’s not sending him off on a fake Black Patch case, that’s for sure. That’s a temporary solution. For the moment, it saved him from going home with Jada (Elia Cantu). But he won’t stay “gone” for long.
Rafe’s doppelganger has proved to be quite a nuisance. He’s alive and well because EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) helped fake his death and provided a life for him down in Argentina. The money didn’t last, and that’s why he’s currently in Salem pretending to be Rafe (also Galen Gering) again.

EJ’s now forced to hold Rafe captive in the DiMera manse, which is crazy because how long will he be able to get away with it? And as EJ knows, Rafe’s fiancée is the police commissioner of the Salem PD. He’s digging a deeper and deeper hole for himself.
Working with Rafe to permanently bring down Arnold is EJ’s best course of action here. Rafe said he’d keep EJ’s part in this whole thing a secret. He just wants to go home. Unfortunately, EJ’s logic tells him that while he could possibly trust Rafe to stick to this deal, he knows he one hundred percent can’t trust Arnold. So, Rafe’s not going anywhere just yet.

What do you think EJ should do? What’s his smart move here? How does he think he can get away with keeping Rafe captive? Any chance Jada will try and trace/find the whereabouts of Rafe’s phone? After all, he answered Jada’s call at the beginning of the episode.
