Days of our Lives and the soap opera world is still reeling from the news of Drake Hogestyn’s death over the weekend. Many fans want to know the last airdate for John Black in Salem. Soap Hub confirmed the details with a DAYS spokesperson.
Because DAYS tapes roughly seven months in advance, actors often continue airing on the soap for weeks or months. Unfortunately, Hogestyn’s final airdate has already passed.
John last appeared in Salem on September 9, 2024, in episode #14940. That day, John gave Tate (Leo Howard) some wise advice about Holly (Ashley Puzemis). He also embraced Brady (Eric Martsolf) when he returned home from jail. He’d been there after he was arrested for running over Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) with his car. All three Black men were together one last time.

John and Malena’s (Deidre Hall) final scenes together aired in episode #14938 on September 5. In that episode, John had spoken on the phone with Belle (Martha Madison) who had wished she and Paul (Christopher Sean) could be there as Brady went through so much trouble. He and Marlena talked, and she reassured him about the situation. She said, “We’re going to get through this together.”

We are so sorry to learn that we’ve seen Hogestyn’s final scenes as John on DAYS. Since the soap streams on Peacock, these episodes should be available to stream right now, so fans can go back and rewatch these priceless moments.
