Sam Rubin was a fixture in Hollywood for decades, securing and conducting on-camera interviews with movers and shakers in show business. He passed away suddenly last week at the age of 64. Soap opera stars including Days of our Lives‘ Deidre Hall, who plays Marlena, are paying tribute to the late on-air personality.

“Our community suffered a serious loss today,” Hall began in an emotional Instagram post. “Sam Rubin was perhaps the kindest, most genuine and supportive man in show business. I adored him. He was the best of us. My condolences to his family, both personally and professionally.”
Hall’s TV daughter, Martha Madison (ex-Belle), (read our last interview with Madison here), added, “Absolutely shocked. Hollywood lost a good one.”
“So sorry to hear of that wonderful gent Sam Rubin’s passing,” posted Thaao Penghlis (Tony). “He was a wonderful interviewer and very supportive member of our industry. Over the years he has always been a great listener. Loved our last interview on my podcast The Lost Treasures. God bless you & ur family.” Tamara Braun (Ava) added: “Oh, no. He was very kind. I’m sorry to hear of his passing as well. Bless.”
Ashley Jones (Bridget, Bold and the Beautiful) posted: “I can’t stop thinking about him tonight…I don’t remember if I ever posted this. It’s a long clip….But if I didn’t, I should have. Sam was morning coffee in LA. His voice was in the background of morning zooms…. Getting [my son] Hayden ready for school… he was KTLA. Every time I got to chat with [him]…it was fun, an honor.
“He made you feel like the project you were promoting was epic!!” Jones continued. “You know what I wish, tho? I wish we all posted this yesterday. Tell them in the living years. But I think he knew he was loved. And to his family… sending so much love to you. 💔 and to [KTLA Channel 5 news].”
Soap Hub sends sincere condolences to Rubin’s family, friends, and loved ones and to the KTLA family at this difficult time.
