Not that long ago, Morgan Fairchild made a brief but welcome return to daytime as Haven de Haviland on General Hospital. Before that, she played Days of our Lives‘ Anjelica Deveraux in 2018. The beloved actress is still busy performing, working tirelessly for her charities, and celebrating a wonderful milestone.
Happy Birthday, Morgan Fairchild
That’s because she was born on February 3, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, which means that this talented performer turns 74 years old this week! Born Patsy Ann McClenny, Fairchild enrolled in a performing arts class after her mother learned she had been too shy to deliver a book report in front of her classmates.
After appearing in a number of commercials that aired in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Fairchild’s career was boosted in 1967 when she was hired to double for Bonnie & Clyde star Faye Dunaway.
Subsequently, Fairchild relocated to New York City where she secured the role of Jennifer Pace on the CBS soap Search for Tomorrow. She was a member of the show’s cast between 1973 and 1977, at which point an increasingly psychotic Jennifer shot and killed a woman whom she saw as a love rival and was sanctioned by her father.
Afterward, Fairchild appeared in a number of primetime programs, including Kojack, Happy Days, and Police Woman. In 1978 she originated the character of Jenna Wade on Dallas, starred in the horror film The Initiation of Sarah, and landed a recurring role on Mork and Mindy.
One year later, she was hired to play Constance Weldon Carlyle on the NBC primetime serial Flamingo Road. After its cancellation, she could be seen in episodes of Hotel, Simon & Simon, Magnum PI, and The Love Boat.
In 1982, she played the main character in The Seduction, a feature film directed by David Schmoeller, and in 1984 she was in ABC’s short-lived primetime soap opera Paper Dolls as the uniquely named Racine. Other work includes Falcon Crest, North & South, Murphy Brown, and recurring roles on Roseanne and Cybill.
Between 1995 and 1996, she starred in the ABC daytime drama The City as Sydney Chase, and she has also appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful and Days of Our Lives, as well as the telenovela Fashion House.
