Abigail Klein knows that Days of our Lives is all about supercouples. The show has specialized in them for decades. Klein’s character Stephanie has a powerful pair in her parents, Steve and Kayla. But, who is Stephanie’s true love? Soap Hub asked Klein about this on a recent red carpet.

Abigail Klein: Who Is Stephanie’s OTP?

The initials OTP, in fandom culture, stand for “One True Pairing.” On DAYS, for example, Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) are each other’s OTP as are John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall), and Shane (Charles Shaughnessy) and Kimberly (Patsy Pease), and, well, you get the idea. Klein has a few thoughts on who her character’s soulmate might be.

The actress concurs that Stephanie and Chad (Billy Flynn) had (and have) tons of potential but “it was too soon,” Klein says, referring to Chad being a relatively recent widower. “Maybe in another world [they’re together]?”

As for her latest relationship, Klein enthuses, “I love Stephanie and Everett [Blake Berris] and their history. You’ll get to see more coming up [just] how close they [actually] were.” The actress says she loves working with Berris and agrees that the talented actor keeps her on her toes in their scenes. “He forces you to be present,” Klein raves. “I love working with Blake.”

DAYS gave, what some might call a “backdoor screentest” between Klein and Steve Burton (Harris) when Stephanie and the lawman had a non-romp romp recently. “People were saying that!” Klein says about Stephanie and Harris being thrown into bed together by the writers. Could that relationship continue? “I don’t need Ava [Tamara Braun] on my back!” Klein says with a laugh.

Soap Hub had caught up with Klein at the recent Daytime Emmys Creative Arts red carpet. While she was thrilled to present four different statuettes in the categories of hair, makeup, costume/styling, and set design, she is understandably disappointed that DAYS didn’t fare well at this year’s awards in the groupings she presented. “I’m happy to represent our show here because we have fantastic hair, makeup, costumes, and set design,” she proudly states.
