In June, Days of our Lives introduced EJ DiMera with a new face when Dan Feuerriegel took over the role from James Scott, who had played the popular character from 2006-2014. Fans have quickly warmed up to the actor, but one thing they may not know is that Feuerriegel is also an accomplished writer.
In fact, Feuerriegel achieved some noteworthy news revolving around his latest work, which he shared with fans on Instagram. “My Graphic Novel, ‘FRACTURED SHARDS’ has received 2 awards from @kickstarter,” he explained, adding an image of the book. “The 3rd most backed & 3rd most funded Australian graphic novel ever 😆 I am over the moon with this. Especially since it’s my first foray into the comic world.”
The graphic novel came about with a successful Kickstarter campaign, where he earned more than double his AU$10,000 goal, finishing at AU$27,572 (nearly $20,000 U.S.). “I want to thank @kickstarter for providing such an awesome platform,” Feuerriegel said. “@comics2movies for helping [me] bring my vision to life. And finally, I want to thank YOU, the backers. If it wasn’t for you, we would not be in this position. So, THANK YOU.”
He also noted that the graphic novel was just about done and ready for people to read. “We are so close to fully completing volume 1 & cannot wait to distribute the finished product to the backers and then open it up to the general public,” he said. “I think you’re all gonna love it.”
And though his DAYS job is keeping him busy, Feuerriegel shared he’ll get started on the next volume of the story soon. His Days of our Lives co-star Paul Telfer (Xander Cook) chimed in, “Bravo!”
Feuerriegel has been enjoying his time in Salem, but EJ has been a little mysterious, not really caring that Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) has gone missing. He of course is furious that his wife cheated on him with Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo), which is leading him down a new path with Nicole Walker Brady (Arianne Zucker), Sami’s enemy.
