Abe Carver has had a rough go of things on Days of our Lives. Sure, he is married the new love of his life, Paulina Price, but he doesn’t remember her. Thankfully, things are better for actor James Reynolds, who has a major milestone to celebrate.
And that’s because he was born on August 10, 1946, in Oskaloosa, Kansas, which means that this talented actor is turning 77 years old today! Reynolds joined his college’s theater department, and while performing on the stage, he discovered a passion for acting, and he decided to pursue it as a career. His first professional role went uncredited — he was “Black Prisoner” in the 1974 feature Mr. Majestyk.
Subsequently, he appeared in episodes of Keeper of the Wild (Paul Limkula), Bigfoot and Wildboy (Tech Sergeant), The Incredible Hulk (Kent), and Time Express (where he recurred as R.J. Walker).
In 1981, Reynolds originated the role of Abraham “Abe” Carver on the then-NBC serial Days of our Lives. After appearing in the part for nine years, James Reynolds left in order to assume the part of Henry Marshall, a character on a brand-new NBC soap titled Generations.
Once that series was canceled, Reynold’s returned to DAYS, where he has remained ever since — barring a brief exit in 2003 when the character was presumed slain by the Salem Slasher.
James Reynolds’s other acting credits include a plethora of feature films such as Fun With Dick and Jane (Johnson), The Magic of Lassie (Officer Wilson), and C.H.O.M.P.S., as well as several made-for-TV movies like Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell (Policeman) and Jennifer: A Woman’s Story (Tom).
Soap Hub would like to wish James Reynolds a very happy birthday, and you can too by clicking on the Twitter link below.
