Happy birthday, Brandon Barash.
Stefan O. DiMera is determined on Days of our Lives to get back his rightful place at the helm of DiMera Enterprises, but will that ever happen? Time will tell, but there is no reason actor Brandon Barash shouldn’t celebrate another trip around the sun in the meantime.
That’s because he was born on October 4, 1979, in St. Louis, Missouri, which means that this talented performer is turning 44 years old today! Had Barash not become enamored with the performing arts while in high school, he would have probably pursued a career as a cardiac surgeon.
Barash earned his BFA in Acting from the University of Southern California and immediately hit the audition circuit. He quickly landed a part on Gilmore Girls and subsequently landed guest-starring roles on such hit primetime programs as the West Wing, 24, and NCIS.
In 2007, Barash landed the role of Johnny Zacchara on ABC’s General Hospital, heir to a criminal empire. Brandon Barash remained on contract with the daytime drama until 2013, but he would return for small guest appearances between 2014 and 2016.
Since March 2019, he has been a member of the Days of our Lives cast, having joined the serial in the re-cast role of Stefan DiMera. After Stefan died, he returned to play his twin brother, Jake, who also was killed, and now Stefan is back from the dead!
Outside of daily drama series, Barash is also known for a multi-episode run on TNT’s Major Crimes (as Detective Robby Oderno), his portrayal of real-life actor Thomas Calabro in the made-for-TV film The Unauthorized Melrose Place Story, and guest spots on series including Bones, Scorpion, and The Last Ship.
He was also married to Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones, GH) and is a devoted dad to their little girl, Harper Rose, who once played Georgie on the soap. The actor remarried this past year, and together, he and his wife Isabella welcomed a son, Joaquin Lee Barash, on September 15, 2023.
