Hope Brady was the top cop once upon a time on Days of our Lives. She recently appeared on the second installment of the soap’s offshoot, Beyond Salem. These days Kristian Alfonso, a veteran daytime star, has a reason to be seen and to celebrate.

And, that’s because she was born on September 5, 1963, in Brockton, Massachusetts, which means that this much-beloved actress is turning 59 years old today! Alfonso harbored dreams of becoming a professional figure skater, but an injury to her landing leg resulted in a change of career.
She began modeling and eventually made the cover of prestigious magazines like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. Alfonso quickly transitioned to acting and made her professional debut in the 1981 TV film The Starmaker.
Two years later, she nabbed the role of legacy character Hope Williams on the NBC daytime soap Days of our Lives. She remained in the role until 1987, at which point she pursued other performing opportunities.
Alfonso spent two seasons playing Pilar Ortega on the primetime serial Falcon Crest, and in 1993, she made her feature film debut in the thriller Joshua Tree. The gorgeous star reprised the part of Hope for a six-week period in 1990, at which point she again exited, and Hope was presumed dead.
Alfonso returned to DAYS in 1994, and she remained there until 2020. Her other acting credits include guest appearances in Who’s the Boss, MacGyver, Full House, Baywatch, Burke’s Law, and Friends. She had a recurring role on Melrose Place, and for a time, she hosted a syndicated romance series called Love Stories.
The beloved star has been married to Danny Daggenhurst since October 6, 2001. The couple shares a son, Jack, and together the couple has raised Alfonso’s son Gino (from her previous marriage to Simon Macauley) and Daggenhurst’s son Spartan.
