Days of our Lives Favorite Christie Clark Celebrates Her Birthday

It was bad news all around for Days of our Lives’ Carrie Brady the last time she was in Salem. She had lost her beloved grandma Caroline and her marriage to Austin was a bust — in fact, the only comfort she could find was in the arms of Rafe — Auntie Hope’s ex-husband. (Of course, all was well with her marriage in Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem!) But, actress Christie Clark is living well and is celebrating!

Happy Birthday, Christie Clark

That’s because she was born on December 13, 1973, in Los Angeles, California, which means that this talented actress turns 50 years old today! Having been named Homecoming Princess of her high school, Clark eventually made her way to London — a country where real Princesses reign — and attended the Royal Academy of Arts, where she met her future husband, Thomas Barnes.

Clark made her acting debut at the age of 12 in the horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge. Subsequently, she appeared as a guest performer in episodes of Hardcastle and McCormick, a Walt Disney anthology series entitled Disneyland, and the made-for-television movie Ask Max.

In 1986, Clark joined the cast of NBC’s Days of our Lives in the role of Carrie Brady, replacing incumbent Andrea Barber. Clark remained there until January 14, 1991, exiting because the show’s producers wanted to age the character and recast with another actress.

Having appeared in a number of primetime projects during her tenure at DAYS — It’s Garry Shandling’s Show, Hull High, Changes — Clark simply moved on to other series following her first DAYS stint.

She briefly played a character named Cindy on ABC’s General Hospital before appearing in Life Goes On and the horror film Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice. Clark then returned to DAYS in December of 1992.

Her second run on the soap would last until November 19, 1999, though the second exit was her choice. There were brief reprisals in the ensuing years (2005-2006; 2011-2012; 2016; 2017; 2018; 2019), but none lasted for more than a 10-month period.
