With an eye to the future, it appears that Days of our Lives is thinking about the next generation of young lovers in Salem. Some key roles are being added, which should spice things up nicely.
Days of our Lives: Casting Call
The show has cast Jamie Martin Mann as Tate Black, Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Theresa’s (Jen Lilley) son, while Ashley Puzemis is taking on the role of a teenage Holly, daughter of Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and the late Daniel (Shawn Christian).
Soap Opera Digest first reported the casting news. Both Mann and Puzemis are set to make their debuts the week of October 9. As DAYS tapes months in advance, it’s likely that these two actors have been taping scenes for many months.
Tate Black: The Musical?
Mann is known for his role on the Netflix series Country Comfort, where he plays Brody, the TV son of Eddie Cibrian (ex-Matt, Young and the Restless) and Katharine McPhee (Smash). Don’t be surprised if Tate has a music career, as the young star has a background in musical theater. He’s performed the title role in the hit musical Billy Elliot. Other credits include Because of Winn Dixie and 13 the Musical. He’s danced with the New York City Ballet in Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and Harlequinade.
Days of Our Lives: Meet Ashley Puzemis
Puzemis’s credits include Danger Force, The Sex Lives of College Girls, and BF for Hire. The actress might also be recognized from her many commercials, including spots for Universal Studios, Mountain Dew, Six Flags, and Gibson Guitars. She also appeared in a music video for the Public the Band’s song Make You Mine, which has received over 150 million views.
Might DAYS tap into Mann’s extensive musical background and have Tate become a singer? There’s a long tradition of DAYS having performers sing on the show. Bill Hayes (Doug Williams), Gloria Loring (ex-Liz Chandler Curtis), and Lisa Rinna (ex-Billie Reed) have all belted out tunes during their stays in Salem.
