Casey Moss
Onscreen, JJ Deveraux has been away from Salem for a while. The last time we saw him back on Days of our Lives for a short time after his TV sister was murdered. Off-screen, things are much better for Casey Moss — the actor who portrays the character — and he is celebrating a major milestone.
That’s because he was born on November 16, 1993, in Hanford, California, which means that this talented performer turns 30 years old today! At 16, the Chandler, Arizona native moved to Los Angeles with further intent on pursuing a career in music.
While he plunged ahead with that dream, he also secured a job as a model for James Tudor underwear and began to develop an interest in the performing arts.
He landed his first acting job at NBC when he was chosen to play legacy character Jack Patrick ‘JJ’ Deveraux on the daytime soap opera Days of our Lives. Moss debuted in an episode that first aired on May 3, 2013.
The role of JJ proved lucrative both professionally (he was nominated for the 2018 Outstanding Younger Actor Daytime Emmy) and personally (he has been dating former co-star True O’Brien since 2015, and the two became engaged in 2022).
Other acting opportunities include the teen serial Youthful Daze and the independent films The Last Champion and Circle. Outside of acting, Moss is a member of a band called Eyes of One, which released an EP titled Reconnection in May of 2014. In early 2021, his band Inner Echo released the singles “The Demon Inside” and “Push Me Away” a couple of months later.
