Cherie Jimenez Says This Is How Gabi Will Be After Prison On Days of Our Lives

Last week on Days of Our Lives, a combination of Stefan, EJ, and Rafe finally figured out how to get Gabi out of prison. In the July 1 episode, she arrived home, AKA the DiMera Mansion, and we really started to get a sense of Cherie Jiminez’s Gabi Hernandez.

New Gabi, Who Dis?

Since Gabi’s unfair imprisonment, her husband Stefan (Brandan Barash) has tried everything to get her out of Statesville. After seven rough months behind bars, Gabi is finally out. And she’s adapting quickly to life at the DiMera mansion again. She’s already jumped in a hot shower, taken her husband to bed, and made plans to visit her daughter in Phoenix.

So she’s a woman that definitely knows what she wants. But what else can we expect from Gabi this time around? Has she changed or stayed the same? Is there a certain quality that Jimenez (get to know more about the actress here) looks to focus on? Will we see her dealing with the trauma that she experienced in jail? What will this post-Camila Banus version of Gabi be like?

“The Gabi that gets out of jail is a changed Gabi in that she has just gone through an incredibly difficult time of being away from her daughter and Stefan, specifically,” the 37-year-old actress told Soap Opera Digest.

She feels Gabi’s latest prison experience has “changed her in so many ways.” Even the way she looks at life. “It’s allowed for her to see what’s really important and to wade through all the bulls–t.” For example, Gabi wastes no time telling Stefan to shave that mustache he’s been sporting for months.

Does she still want to be DiMera CEO? Or does she lean into her ambitious side once again? Furthermore, what will she do about Ava (Tamara Braun), who Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) just hired to work alongside her at DiMera?

What makes this an uncomfortable situation is the Ava factor. After all, Stefan and Ava slept together, and they’re keeping this news from Gabi. How will she react? Like we think she will?
