With Days of our Lives in its 60th season, the Peacock soap has teased several returns from beloved Salemites, including fan favorite Chandler Massey.
He’s Back!
Massey played Will Horton on DAYS from 2010-2014. He then reprised the role from 2017-2020, when Will was miraculously brought back from the dead. The actor returned for the first season of Beyond Salem, A Very Salem Christmas, and a handful of short stints over the last five years.
Massey portrayed Will during the character’s most memorable storylines, like coming out and falling in love with Sonny (then Freddie Smith). Also when he returned from the dead and rekindled his love for his ex-husband.
Despite Massey’s thriving career in Hallmark Channel rom-coms, often alongside other soap alums like Hunter King (ex-Summer, The Young and the Restless) and Erika Slezak (ex-Viki, One Life To Live). The actor will be returning to his Salem roots this June, and fans can’t contain their excitement.

On an Instagram post by @officialchabdletmasseyfans announcing Massey’s return to the tune of “Beautiful Day” by U2, one fan took to the comments to say, “Awesomeness! He is my favorite!” Another shared, “Awwwww I miss Will so much, and WilSon,” referring to the Salem supercouple pairing Will and Sonny (ex-Zach Tinker).
Over on X (formerly Twitter), one excited viewer shared, “I was watching @DaysPeacock on @peacock to see my idol, Greg Rikaart as Leo Stark and @AlCalderon2 as Javi Hernandez after @derekyates left as Kerry Youmans aka Lady Whistleblower, my other idol, Chandler Massey returns back as Will Horton in June!!”

While there’s no word on Massey’s first airdate, he was spotted in DAYS’ 60th-anniversary preview in a scene alongside Deidre Hall (Marlena), Martha Madison (Belle), and Christie Clark (Carrie).
