Days of our Lives’ Cady McClain Suffers Heartbreaking Loss

Days of our Lives star Cady McClain suffered a heartbreaking loss recently. She’s mourning the death of her beloved dog, Mr. Peanut.

McClain recently shared a photo of her dog on Instagram. She also wrote some beautiful words about what Mr. Peanut meant to her. “Mr. Peanut has gone to meet his maker,” she began. “Those of you who know me well know how close this little man and I were. We were bonded right at the heartbone, loyal to one another through thick and thin.

“I made a promise to Mr Peanut when he was a tiny six-week-old pup that he would never suffer,” she continued. “That his life would be full of joy and that he would always know he was loved. And I’m proud to have made good on that promise.

“Anyone who tried to hurt this dog met my wrath and I’m not sorry one bit,” wrote McClain. “It was my honor and privilege to love this guy. I think he felt the same about me. I am so grateful that I still feel him with me. It is a kind of energetic proof to me that there is life beyond the body. Even for dogs. We do not become “nothing.” That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

“If you call and I don’t pick up, please know… I’m just tired,” she explained. “It’s been a big week. If you think of it or care to, whisper a little ‘Good Boy’ to Mr P… and to all the good boys and girls out there who share this planet with us. We are so lucky to live in a world filled with dogs.”

McClain’s co-stars, friends, and fans expressed their condolences in the comments. Among those who commented with words of sorrow and hope were Rebecca Budig (Taylor, The Bold and the Beautiful), Finola Hughes (Anna, General Hospital), and Julie Dove (Connie, Days of our Lives).
