Best 4 Daytime Newcomers In 2024

It was a big year for new faces to grace our screens in daytime. Here are the four best newcomers on soaps in 2024.

Peyton Meyer (Days of our Lives)

As Salem said a heartbreaking goodbye to Doug (the late Bill Hayes), no one expected another Doug to show up so soon. Then along came Peyton Meyer as Doug’s long lost grandson, Doug III.

Sweet on the outside but dark on the inside, Meyer portrays this new character immaculately. The actor fits right in with DAYS’ villain-turned-good-guy formula, and blends seamlessly into the familiar faces of Salem.

Giovanni Mazza (General Hospital)

When Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) had their wedding of the year, they were joined by family and friends, including Giovanni Mazza as Gio. But it wasn’t until the young violinist decided to stick around Port Charles that he earned a rightful place not only at the Quartermaine’s, but on GH.

While Gio hasn’t had much to his storyline other than the mystery behind his deceased parents and his reluctance to pursue music, now that he’s met Emma (Braedyn Bruner) and there’s talk of who his real birth mother is, it seems we’ll be seeing much more of Mazza.

Christian Weissman (The Bold and the Beautiful)

Sure, he’s only been on B&B for a month and a half, but Christian Weissman has rocked Forrester as Remy. While things started out sweet for this new character, they quickly turned sour when he reunited with Electra (Laneya Grace).

Weissman has perfected the crazy stalker role as Remy’s obsession with Electra reached a climax where he’s held her captive to keep her away from her actual love, Will (Crew Morrow).

Brian Gaskill (The Young and the Restless)

While Brian Gaskill is far from a daytime newcomer, with credits ranging from All My Children to As The World Turns and Guiding Light, he was new to Genoa City this year. Gaskill portrayed Seth from January to March, and while his time on Y&R was short, his character left an impact on GC.

Seth was Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) sponsor after her relapse earlier this year, but when he fell off the wagon and encountered a disguised Jordan (Colleen Zenk), he was murdered by the Newman nemesis.

DAYS, if you’re listening, could 2025 be Gaskill’s year to show up in Salem?
