During Paulina’s ongoing health ailments, a fan-favorite couple returned to Days of Our Lives to offer their love and support. But the March 13 episode revealed the fate of this Salem supercouple.
Elani Return
Eli (Lamon Archey) and Lani (Sal Stowers) — affectionately known by fans at Elani — were last seen in Salem last summer when Abe (James Reynolds) went missing. The couple finally returned last month when Lani’s mother Paulina (Jackée Harry) was at death’s door from heart failure and the Carver clan united in support.
It’s typically temporary visits when Stowers and Archey return to DAYS, and the March 13 episode confirmed whether they’re expected to stay or leave.
Will They Stay Or Will They Go?
Paulina is now on the mend, and while visiting her in the hospital, Eli got a call he insisted he needed to take. The couple stepped out after Lani assured Paulina they’d be back with “two surprises.”

When Eli ended his phone call, he announced to his wife that his new FBI status is as a part-time special agent. The two celebrated his new job until Eli questioned if he should take it due to it being in DC, wondering if they should stay in Salem with their family.
After an off-screen visit with little Carver and Jules, Paulina told them she hopes to see more of her grandchildren. That was when Lani finally told her mother about Eli’s job offer and how it would take them away from Salem.
Lani decided it was up to Paulina, who fought it at first, but finally agreed it was best for them, as long as their home in DC has room for her to visit when she’s well enough to travel.
