Arianne Zucker recently appeared on Rachel Uchitel’s hit podcast, Miss Understood. During the hourlong (plus) interview, she addressed the Donald Trump and Billy Bush / Access Hollywood scandal and the backstage drama that led to the firing of Days of Our Lives executive producer Albert Alarr and, subsequently, her own exit from the show she called home for over 20 years. The actress, podcast host, and life coach also discussed the circumstances surrounding her character’s upcoming exit.
Goodbye, Nicole Walker
In the middle of the podcast, Uchitel asked Zucker about her character’s exit. When she wanted to know if Nicole would die, the actress quickly shot down the “killed-off” scenario, saying, “I think they were smart enough not to kill me.”
However, her final airdate is fast approaching because Zucker’s last tape date was December 23, 2023. The show is notorious for its breakneck production schedule, where the cast often tapes six months ahead. The DAYS veteran, who recently revealed wedding plans with Shawn Christian, further relayed that she thinks her final script stated a July 29, 2024, airdate. But she acknowledged that she didn’t know if they had moved or adjusted that date in any way.
The Miss Understood host also wanted to know the specifics that would take Nicole Walker out of Salem. Zucker didn’t want to ruin it for her fans. No matter what happened to her, she continually relayed how much she loved DAYS and was loyal to the show. She’ll let the fans experience it for themselves (Find out the big dilemma DAYS faces with her exit here).
The Emmy-nominated soap star addressed whether the writers did justice to her character on her way out. She said Nicole’s departure was written quickly. “So, in that regard, I think they did a lot of disservice to the two characters that people have wanted together for a long time. And I think it did a disservice to the one that she was with at the time also.
“But that’s the investment, that’s the choice of the writer, and if the writer chooses — the head writer — if he chooses not to write that, you’re just not going to get that storyline,” the life coach and podcast host continued. “To a degree, it was fine. It was fine. So, the fans can look forward to that.”
Rachel Uchitel hosts The Miss Understood Podcast, which features individuals whose lives have been reduced to a single headline. Each episode vows to examine the stories of those on a mission to change their narrative. Uchitel herself knows of what she speaks. After all, she found herself in the middle of a massive scandal when the public discovered her affair with Tiger Woods.
Do Zucker’s comments mean Nicole will leave Salem without reuniting with Eric (Greg Vaughan) or settling things with EJ (Dan Feuerriegel)? We will all get answers next month. What are your thoughts on the podcast? Let us know in the comments.
