Nancy Frangione, best known for her portrayal of the scheming villainess Cecile DePoulignac on the NBC soap opera, Another World, passed away on August 18.
News of her passing came via an online memorial. Her cause of death has not been released at this time.
Born July 10, 1953, in Barnstable, Massachusetts, Frangione was no stranger to daytime. The perky blonde actress made her daytime debut as Tara Martin, a core member of the original teen set on All My Children. She took over the role originated by actress Karen Lynn Gorney. Frangione moved on to tackle the delicious role of Cecile in 1980, playing the role on and off through 1995. That role was originated by Susan Keith.
The talented actress briefly stepped in to take on the role of Tina Roberts on One Life to Live in 1985, filling in for the then-ailing Andrea Evans. Frangione rounded off her acting resume by adding primetime guest spots on Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Matlock, Highway to Heaven, and The Nanny, two TV movies, Sharing Richard and In The Line of Duty: A Cop for the Killing, and a stint on Broadway in Equus as Jill Mason.
The actress married her Another World co-star, Christopher Rich (Sandy Cory), from 1982 to 1996, and they had one daughter, Mariel Rich. Soap Hub sends its sincere condolences during this difficult time to her family, friends, and fans.
