AnnaLynne McCord is currently stirring up drama in Salem. The Days of Our Lives star shocked fans with an Abigail twist. Now, the Peacock star is getting candid about the behind-the-scenes drama that happened on the Dallas reboot.

Tackling a New Role

In an interview with TV Insider, McCord spoke about her time on TNT’s Dallas reboot. She joined the show during the third season when tensions were already high on set. Not only did she have to adjust to a completely different role but also to a different cast.

McCord previously played Naomi on 90210, who was a bit of a “mean girl.” She was typecast into the role shortly thereafter. She wanted to take on a different role for her, which was to play “a nice character from the onset.” The soap star enjoyed playing a character that had depth.

“But with my character on Dallas, I got to play this young, single mom who’s dealing with a situation with an abusive partner, and she’s a tough little chick who has a bunch of brothers and works for Southfork and kind of keeps to herself but falls in love with Christopher, Jesse’s [Metcalfe] character, and it was so much fun,” McCord shared.

Taking on the role of Heather was one of her favorite acting gigs. She loved interacting with the horses and riding them. The cast filmed on ranches set 50 miles outside the city. McCord loved going on horse rides with the cast and crew.

Spilling the Tea

But working on the primetime wasn’t all fun and games. She teased that “the drama on Dallas was more off-screen than on-screen.” Even though she was the new girl, the cast trusted her enough to share their drama. One actor mulled over whether he should pop the question to his girlfriend. It became too much for her.

“I was literally like, ‘I need to get away; I’m just gonna sit in my care and have lunch in the dark,’ because our lunch was in the middle of the night because we were doing a night shoot,” McCord explained.

The off-screen drama was so good that it could’ve been fodder for the show. Ultimately, Dallas was canceled after the third season. McCord agrees that it was too soon, especially since she just joined.
