Days of Our Lives is welcoming a fresh face to Salem. Alice Halsey has been cast as the new Rachel Black. The young actress makes her debut on April 24, 2025, stepping into the role previously portrayed by Finley Rose Slater. With Rachel being the daughter of Brady Black and Kristen DiMera, fans can expect Halsey to be at the center of some seriously soapy drama.

A Rising Star

The official DAYS Instagram account introduced the young actress to fans with a warm welcome. “Get to know 10-year-old, Alice Halsey, who will be starting Thursday as “Rachel”! Let’s give her a warm welcome in the comments! 💙⏳” reads the caption.

In the video, Halsey tells fans some of the best things about herself. For instance, she loves to draw, read, and be active. She even gives some great advice she’s learned from her dad — “You’re only as good as your prep.” That’s why Halsey practices to ensure she’s prepared. Check out the whole video below.

Her on-screen dad, Eric Martsolf (Brady), replied, “So sweet, she gives me a cavity every day💙😉”

Ashley Puzemis (Holly) wrote, “the cutest most fierce lil girl there ever was!! 💝”

“Future Oscar winner right there,” predicted Dan Feuerriegel (EJ).

Taking on the role of Rachel places Halsey at the center of some of the show’s most dramatic storylines. The character has been a pivotal part of DAYS since her birth, often caught in the crossfire of Brady and Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) ongoing battles. With Halsey stepping into the role, viewers can anticipate new developments in Rachel’s story, potentially exploring her relationships with her parents and other Salem residents.

While Halsey is new to the daytime scene, she’s no stranger to the screen. She appeared in the 2023 episode “Legalese” of NBC’s Night Court, played a younger version of Brie Larson’s character in Lessons in Chemistry, and starred in Kindergarten: The Musical. These early roles have shown her versatility across genres — from comedy to musical to prestige drama. Landing a recurring spot on DAYS is the next step in what’s shaping up to be a promising career. Her resume shows a solid foundation in both comedy and drama—something that will serve her well in Salem.

Recasting child roles is par for the course in daytime, especially when a character is central to major plotlines like Rachel is. Rachel’s life has been anything but calm. Halsey’s arrival suggests that the character is about to take center stage again — and with Kristen still scheming and Brady always conflicted, that’s bound to get messy fast.

Keep your eyes on this rising star. If her past roles are any indication, Halsey has the acting chops to hold her own alongside some of Salem’s most seasoned players.
