Aketra Sevillian has joined the Days of our Lives cast as Talia Hunter. She’s the daughter of Steve’s old friend, Marcus Hunter, and the younger sister of police detective Jada Hunter.

1. There’s an interesting story behind her unusual first name, Aketra. It’s actually her mother’s name, Arteka, spelled backward. However, she goes by the nickname, Keke.
2. Sevillian played basketball at Goodrich High School in Michigan, leading the team to its first Class B State Championship in the 2011-2012 season. She also played on the Penn State University team.

3. Her athleticism doesn’t end on the court. Sevillian began running track when she was 8, and the sport was a big part of her growing up. In fact, she was a State Championship runner-up in track and field in high school.
4. Although she has a passion for sports and is acting now, there was a time she envisioned a totally different career. Sevillian wanted to become an ER doctor and considered studying Pre-Med. However, she switched gears to Kinesiology with a minor in psychology.
