Watching Days of our Lives can be very educational. We are always asking questions like, Does stabbing a man in the back really not cause any bleeding at all? Why do their babies never age while their teens skip entire decades? How long does it take to put flowers on a grave in Greece? What, exactly, is Kayla’s medical specialty? But today, we’re tackling a pair of head-scratchers that reared their heads just this week.
Do You Know How Hard It Is To Lead?
Ever since Paulina (Jackée Harry) took over as mayor, we’ve been told, over and over again, how good she is at her job. Sure, we don’t know if Salem is running under budget, what its public schools look like, whether there are services for the elderly, whether it has issues with police brutality (we know they don’t actually solve crimes), or how it is reducing its carbon footprint. But Paulina is doing a great job!
This is why we were so surprised when Abe (James Reynolds) had to be the one to tell Paulina that there were tax breaks available for shooting his soon-hope-to-be-streaming soap opera, Body & Soul, in Salem. As the mayor, shouldn’t that be something Paulina is telling him? Or are her great, terrific, awesome, unprecedented political achievements in some other area? We’d love to know what it is. (It’s certainly not in keeping District Attorneys. Or keeping snowmobiles doing their jobs.)
Get Your Clothes On
And while Paulina demonstrated her competence, EverBob (Blake Berris) dreamed of a sexy reunion with Jada (Elia Cantu). He imagined her coming to his hotel room, knocking on the door, and falling into his arms…wearing the same clothes the real Jada was currently wearing for a completely different scene with Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) all the way across town. Is Bobby psychic? Or does he just have really, really good vision?
