Steve and Kayla have had a rough go of things this year on Days of Our Lives. They started off in style, as Steve proposed to Kayla and she accepted. However, it all went downhill from there.
First, Ava (Tamara Braun) clocked Kayla over the head, leading to a cerebral hemorrhage that requires surgery next week. But, before she knew of this problem, Kayla learned Steve (Stephen Nichols) slept with Ava to save her life — by viewing a video. Kayla broke things off, and they haven’t been the same since. Happily, that’s all about to change.
Sure, Kayla needs life-saving surgery, and after she recovers, Steve wants her home and away from the villains heading to Salem. According to the September 19 issue of Soap Opera Digest, Kayla balks at Steve’s protectiveness. Mary Beth Evans told the magazine her character is an independent woman and can take care of herself.
It takes John talking to Steve, and then Steve talking to Kayla for her to finally see the light. Steve has made an earnest attempt to change for the woman he’s always loved, and Kayla finally comes to see that next week.
It looks like a new beginning for Patch and his Sweetness after Kayla asks him to come home with her. While they still have the wayward Joey (James Lastovic) to contend with, maybe one of DAYS’ most popular couples will finally get back on track.
