Chloe’s bombshell baby secret – the fact that her child’s biological parents are actually Nicole and Daniel — is about to explode on Days of Our Lives. And she’s panic-stricken that Nicole is about to uncover the truth.
For actress Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe), the whole twisted tale has been a major shocker from beginning to end.
Big Daddy Reveal
“When we taped the reveal that Chloe was a surrogate for Nicole and Daniel’s baby, it was like… Mind blown,” says Bjorlin with a laugh, admitting she didn’t expect the turn. “It was an off camera thing. So we had to tape new flashbacks; those scenes between Chloe, Nicole, and Daniel with Chloe saying, ‘You guys want a child. I’m your best friend. I’ll do this for you.’”
Before that surprise turn, Bjorlin totally believed Chloe was carrying her own child. The only question was, Who was the daddy? Then, she learned it was Chloe’s ex-husband, Daniel.
“I had no clue. I was like, Wait, what!?” remembers Bjorlin. “When I first heard, I thought [the producers] were messing with me to get me to stop asking; because I had been asking a lot as Nadia.
I didn’t know before I left on my maternity leave. The entire time I was gone I was wondering who it was going to be. Then, I came back, they told me, and I was like, ‘Oh!’”
The Greatest Gift
For Bjorlin, a new mom who just gave birth to her first child, son Torin, in May, playing a surrogate has been challenging.
“I could not possibly fathom doing that,” she says. “That would be the most selfless thing that any human being could ever do for someone. Having gone through birth, that’s the greatest gift anyone could give anyone.
I’ve had friends who have had children through a surrogate. I have two friends, actually, that have used a surrogate. Now, I’m like, ‘Do you even realize how incredible a gift that is?’”
As for what the surrogacy plot means for Chloe, Bjorlin is intrigued. “It’s given me something interesting to play,” explains Bjorlin. “I now have to use my imagination, because this isn’t Chloe’s baby, but it is her baby in a way, too. So I have to imagine, What would that be like?”

A Rift Ahead
Moving forward, this development is going to seriously affect the dynamic between Chloe and Nicole (Arianne Zucker). “Coming up, it’s going to cause a major rift in their friendship, for several reasons,” notes Bjorlin. “Chloe is now fiercely protective of this child.
Now that Daniel’s out of the picture things have changed. This thing that Chloe agreed to do has changed for her, because Daniel’s not around anymore and because of Nicole’s decision about who she wants to be with.”
Namely, the dangerous Deimos (Vincent Irizarry). And who can really blame Chloe for not wanting to relinquish the child she carried for nine months to him?
