Ever since Jack returned to Days Of Our Lives with no memory of his lifelong love for Jennifer, their kids, or the fact that he never had an opinion regarding illegal immigration before, fans have been waiting for the dramatic moment of recognition.
It’s sure been taking its time. Jack (Matthew Ashford) married Eve (Kassie DePaiva). He became mayor. He decided to take Dr. Rolf’s (Will Utay) magic serum, but Eve destroyed it.
Now Jack and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) are back to their youthful sleuthing days — only on a much lower budget. Is it time for him to remember everything? What over 4,000 viewers had to say:
Just Do It!
It wasn’t what you’d call close, as 95% of you are ready to see Jack recall his relationship with Jennifer, and the family they built with Abigail (Kate Mansi) and JJ (Casey Moss). You want more lighthearted love stories, witty banter, and sexy love scenes — not debates over public policy.
Sure, Jack may have come to Salem as an earnest young politician with an overbearing (adoptive) father (who was also a secret serial killer, but that’s another story, never mind), and he may have raped Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), but the guy you — and Jen — fell in love with was goody and dorky and very endearing. Let him remember that part of himself. All the other stuff can stay forgotten.
Make ‘Em Wait
All My Children and One Life To Live creator Agnes Nixon said the secret to writing a successful soap opera was, “Make them laugh, make them cry, make them wait.”
A minority 5% of you want to see Jack and Jen fall in love all over again, THEN maybe he can recall the last time(s).
After all, new love is soaps’ bread and butter — and neither Jack nor Jennifer are the people they were the last time they got together. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
