The aftermath of Lexie’s return on Days of our Lives has been filled with lots of drama and chaos. Amid it all, one thing has subtly been swept under the rug, except by EJ. Lexie’s got a new attitude, and it’s way darker than before.
Key Takeaway
- Lexie is not the same person she was before her cancer and death.
- EJ called out Lexie, channeling her inner DiMera.
- Lexie has been ruthless about Paulina since she returned.
Not The Same Old Lexie For Sure
There have been a couple of interactions where it has become crystal clear that Lexie (Nikki Crawford) is a different persona amid her resurrection. No, we aren’t talking about the fact that a different actress is in the role.
Lexie’s entire attitude changed quickly. When she first woke up, Lexie took a minute to adjust to the fact that so many years had passed.
However, once Lexie got caught up on life and learned that Abe (James Reynolds) was married to Paulina (Jackée Harry), her whole demeanor shifted. This isn’t just jealousy or hurt feelings that her husband moved on with another woman.
More than once, Lexie has taken shots at Paulina, a woman she doesn’t know. First with Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), after Lexie looked up her competition online and learned what Paulina did when she first came to Salem.
When EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) was talking to Lexie about Paulina, he noticed she was ruthlessly speaking about her. EJ clocked that Lexie was very DiMera in that moment. It was something Lexie didn’t like, even though it was true. Despite noticing the difference, EJ was still taken aback by Lexie’s new attitude.
The shift in Lexie was further proven in the June 1 episode after Abe and Theo (Tyler Joseph Andrews) brought her home, where he lived with Paulina. Lexie made digs at the décor and pretty much anything else that Paulina had a hand in.
When Lexie and Abe got some alone time, she pushed Abe to cut Paulina out of his life forever. It was neither subtle nor a suggestion. Lexie used guilt to convince Abe to do what she asked, all in the name of it being the best thing for her.
Is Lexie’s Shift About Paulina or Something Else?
Gone is the sweet and helpful Lexie, and in her place is a very calculated woman who wants her family back and will do whatever it takes to make that happen. The problem is that everyone sees Lexie as this fragile woman who just came back from the dead, which is so not the case.
Lexie quickly came into her own, but instead of being more Carver, she is showing signs of being every bit Stefano’s (Joseph Mascolo) daughter. This version of Lexie is way more ruthless, but so far, her DiMera attitude only seems focused on Paulina.
The question is, is her attitude toward Paulina just the beginning of her darker side coming out? We think so, what about you?
