L ongtime soap vet Mary Beth Evans cleaned up at the Daytime Emmys this weekend.
Evans, who began her soap career on “Rituals” in the early 1980s, won her first performing Emmys this year. On Sunday, she took home the gold for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series on “Days of Our Lives” after taking home an Emmy on Friday for Outstanding Actress in a Digital series for “The Bay.”
Evans created the role of Kayla in 1986 and has been playing her off and on ever since. When she accepted her award Sunday, she thanked her family as well as her longtime leading man Stephen Nichols, who she called “my partner, my love.”
