When Eduardo said his goodbyes to his family on Monday’s Days of Our Lives, it was likely the last time you’d see A Martinez playing the character in a contract role.
By Tuesday, Martinez’s name was missing from the DAYS credits and on Wednesday morning the actor tweeted about his status with the show, explaining he’s now recurring by choice.
Gratitude for the Hernandez Love. To be clear: the move to “recurring” was my wish – I need the flexibility @nbcdays pic.twitter.com/RYDSI8CrlI

Also missing from Tuesday’s credits was Alma Delfina’s name, making fans wonder if Mama Hernandez’s time on the show had come to an end. While the character didn’t officially leave town, the Jason47 DAYS Website Facebook page reports that Delfina is now recurring, as well.
Martinez joined DAYS last Fall as Eduardo Hernandez. Eduardo arrived in town to mourn the death of his daughter, Paige (True O’Brien). It soon turned out he also fathered Rafe (Galen Gering) and his siblings, Gabi (Camila Banus) and Dario (Jordi Vilasuso). We later learned that Eduardo was a hired assassin, having been trained at the same odd academy where John Black spent his youth.
Delfina made her Salem debut this winter as Adriana Hernandez, Eduardo’s ex-wife, and Rafe, Gabi, and Dario’s mother. Will we still see the pair for holidays and other special Salem occasions now that both performers are recurring?

He’s a regular on the Netflix series Longmire, which begins season 3 soon. In addition, Martinez is in pre-production on a flick called Rose, starring Cybil Shepherd and James Brolin.
