Brace yourselves Days of Our Lives fans. Tripp and Ciara’s relationship is about to implode!
Tripp’s plot to frame Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) for setting the cabin fire is finally exposed — by Ben, and he runs to tell all to Ciara, who’s shocked and disappointed in her “good guy” boyfriend.
Ciara heads straight for Tripp to confront him about what she’s learned.
Time to Explain
“In Tripp’s mind, what he did is completely justified,” says Lucas Adams (Tripp). “He was thinking, ‘I’m just helping to push this case in the right direction… the direction that it’s supposed to be.’ It’s obvious to him that Ben set the fire. Of course, that’s what happened.”
And Tripp doesn’t get why anyone, including Ciara (Victoria Konefal), doesn’t realize this.
“He’s like, Why am I the only one?’ notes Adams. “When Tripp planted the [accelerant] can with Ben’s fingerprint on it, he was like, the final straw has been drawn, and I have to get this guy taken care of.”
Ciara’s True Feelings
Ciara doesn’t agree. She takes major issue with what Tripp has done and comes to Ben’s defense. It makes Tripp wonder exactly what his girlfriend feels for the guy, forcing Ciara to finally acknowledges she has feelings for Ben.
“That’s rough for Tripp,” admits Adams. “Obviously, he’s always had his suspicions, but he’s pushed them to the back of his mind, thinking, well, she thinks Ben’s changed.”
Hard to Deny
Yet, Adams admits …continue reading on the next page —>
Yet, Adams admits Tripp has suspected it’s been more than that but tried to deny it. “Tripp knows how Ciara looks at Ben, and how Ben looks at her,” says Adams.
“That’s really what gets Tripp fueled up, because Ben’s a killer. He’s a bad person. But he sees this connection between Ben and Ciara. All Tripp was trying to do is protect Ciara. He believes she’s going to get hurt in that situation.”
Ciara’s admission weighs on Tripp.
“He’s upset and heartbroken,” notes Adams. “But he’s not angry with her. She didn’t do anything wrong. Ciara’s just in love with two people, although she’s more in love with one, obviously.
It’s Over!
“Once Tripp realizes that…once Ciara’s feelings for Ben are said out loud, it becomes real to him,” continues Adams.
“That’s when Tripp realizes he’s not Ciara’s first choice, and he also doesn’t want to be strung along. He doesn’t want to be a fifth wheel.”
There’s only one choice for the couple to make, and they break up. The move leaves Tripp loathing Ben more than ever moving forward.
“Anytime he sees Ben, he’s immediately mad. His day is ruined because he saw him,” says Adams. “And that’s not just because of Ciara. It’s because of the entirety of it.
“Tripp’s thinking, ‘How is this guy still walking around free?’ And he’s trying to figure out what really happened with the fire if Ben actually did set it or not. Tripp really just wants to find out the truth and put a guilty man behind bars.”
