Lost Hope: Is Her Obsession With Ben Over the Top On Days of Our Lives?

No mother wants her daughter dating a serial killer, and Hope on Days of Our Lives is no exception.

Hope (Kristian Alfonso) has a point. Hope has many, many points. Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) killed several people with a necktie. Ben kidnapped and held Abigail (Kate Mansi) hostage.

Even if Ben is on medication now, there is no promise that he won’t stop taking them or they’ll stop working. Ben could kill again. Also, Ciara (Victoria Konefal) doesn’t always think. Hope is right about all those things.

But Ciara is an adult, she can make her own choices, and Hope can’t stick by her baby girl’s side 24/7. She sure is trying to, though.

And, if that doesn’t work out, Hope is determined to put Ben in prison for starting the fire that nearly killed Ciara. Whether he did it or not. She’s even made a deal with Ted to falsify evidence.

A Bridge Too Far
Hope may have a point, but she’s still gone too far, 84% are sorry to say. She’ll ruin her career, she’ll blow up her relationship with Ciara, and with Rafe (Galen Gering) and – here’s the kicker – Ben will come out looking better than ever!

The more she tries to villainize him, the more he’ll look like a victim. That’s very attractive, and not just to Ciara.

Not Without My Daughter
Hope is just being a mother, 16% insist. What mother wouldn’t do anything she felt she needed to – even if it meant destroying her career and her marriage – to save her daughter’s life?

Ciara isn’t dating a bad boy with a motorcycle, a tattoo, and a scruff of a beard like Hope did. Ciara is dating a killer! (Although dating serial killers is not a new thing on soaps.)
