We’ve known about it since early this year, but it’s still hard to believe it’s coming. Arianne Zucker and Nicole will no longer be part of the Salem scene on Days of Our Lives.
According to the October 23 issue of Soap Opera Digest, the actress’s last airdate is next Friday, October 13 after Nicole devastates Eric (Greg Vaughan) by breaking things off with him one last time and leaving town with Holly.
While Nicole will finally be the mother she’s always wanted to be, it’s with a heavy heart because she wanted to raise her baby with Eric.
Of course, it’s Brady’s (Eric Martsolf) demand that she either leave Eric or he turns her in for killing Deimos that prompts her to break Eric’s heart one last time.
However, Zucker loves how the door is left wide open for her return, should she ever choose to go back to the job she left last June.

“It didn’t feel as if I was leaving, really,” Zucker told Digest. “And, I have an open door to come back. Who knows? That was probably the idea.”
Zucker says she’s been auditioning and also enjoying just being a mom. Although she sometimes gets bored, she’s ready to see what life throws her, but always has a special place in her heart for the soap she called home for more than two decades.
“Never say never,” she told Digest. “I just wanted to take this time to do some things for me, so it felt really good that I made this decision for myself.”
