Handsome Jordi Vilasuso has been gone from Days of Our Lives, but not from the public eye. In fact, he has a hot new film about to be released!

While Dario Hernandez is missing in action in Salem, as he hides from those hunting him down, the actor who portrayed him has moved too — to Killer Island, the name of the film that will arrive on VOD, May 25, 2018 including Amazon, iTunes, followed by Vudu, and GooglePlay.

“He’s maybe not what he seems he should be,” teased Vilasuso about his character, Jim Ross, in the above exclusive interview he did with Soap Hub last year. “I don’t want to reveal too much.”

That’s because this movie is a suspenseful adventure film that centers on a woman, Ashley, on vacation with her husband. She becomes a target when she suspects one of the islands’ locals may have committed multiple murders.

“It was a lot of fun,” shared Vilasuso.

The film also co-stars soap veteran Brian Patrick Clarke (ex-Storm, The Bold and the Beautiful; ex-Grant Andrews/Grant Putnam, General Hospital) as Gordon.

Killer Island is from Concord Films and was the winner of Best Feature Film at the Fort Myers Beach Film Festival. It’s the fifth in a series of “Killer” films which aired on Lifetime Network — one of which starred Kate Mansi (soon to be Abby again).

Unfortunately for Days of Our Lives fans, it doesn’t seem like Dario is headed back to Salem anytime soon, which is a shame since his brother Rafe (Galen Gering) and sister Gabi (Camila Banus) have watched their family shrink over the last few years.

But anything can happen — perhaps Dario will pop back in when we least expect it. In the meantime, fans can enjoy Vilasuso in this brand new role.

Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
