News of Marci Miller’s Days of Our Lives (DOOL) departure only leaked this months, but it looks like it’s already almost over for this version of Abigail Deveraux.
On Wednesday night, Miller took to Instagram to tell us she only has two days left of brining Abby to life as she studied the last of her scripts.
All she wrote was “2 more days of #Days” and that was enough to let fans know she would only be in Salem till the end of the week.
While we knew the actress wasn’t signing a new contract, her message post made it all too real for fans. It’s been a wild ride for her character over the last year and a half on screen.
Her journey began as Abby, post breakdown and belivied dead in a plane crash, returned to Salem to find her husband Chad (Billy Flynn) in a relationship with her best friend, Gabi (Camila Banus). She befriended Gabi’s brother, Dario (Jordi Vilasuso).
There was tons of drama almost at every turn — first with everyone learning she was still alive, followed by dealing with an osbsessed Dario, reclaiming her beloved husband, an unhinged Deimos (Vincent Irizarry), and the return of Batty Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) at her wedding.
But things really kicked up a notch with the arrival of Stefan (Tyler Christopher), whose obsession with her, along with Andre’s (Thaao Penghlis) betrayal, sent Abby over the edge once again, causing a DID story gave Miller an enormous amount of meaty material to soar with.
She received a lead actress Emmy nomination — breaking into a normally exclusive club of daytime veterans. Miller had big shoes to fill with Kate Mansi winning the Emmy for the same role the year before.
Now, she will leave on a creative high note. Soap Hub thanks the talented actress for her hard work and wishes her luck for the future.
