Rex Brady may be mourning the loss of his wife, Sarah Horton, whom he lost to his half-brother Eric but actor Kyle Lowder certainly has reason to celebrate.
That’s because he was born on August 27, 1980, in St. Louise, MO, meaning the actor is turning 39 years old today! Lowder was raised in Pleasantville, NY and played quarterback for his high school’s football team.
After graduating, Lowder was accepted in the BFA Drama program at the School of Visual and Performing Arts a Syracuse University. However, he dropped out during his sophomore year to accept an invitation to attend a talent showcase in Los Angeles.
Now situated on the West Coast, Lowder found himself signed with a talent agent and began modeling for Abercrombie & Fitch and Speedo. In July of 2000, he was cast in the role of Brady Black on the NBC daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives. Lowder remained with the serial until 2005 and received a Daytime Emmy nomination for his work.
Two years later, Lowder joined one of DAYS’ time slot competitors. He starred as Rick Forrester on CBS’s The Bold and the Beautiful until 2011 but chose to exit so he could concentrate on his musical endeavors. His debut CD, released not long after, hit number 3 on iTunes in the Classical Crossover category.
In 2018, Lowder returned to DAYS but instead of playing Brady Black he was cast as another character: Rex Brady. Lowder recurred on the soap for one year but storylines dictated an exit for the character in the summer of 2019.
Outside of his work in daytime, Lowder is probably known for his roles in various musicals including Rock of Ages and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, as well as his work as “Crave Rider” in a number of nationally aired Dr. Pepper commercials.
