While there’s no word on whether Charles Shaughnessy and Patsy Pease have new “Days of Our Lives” contracts, it does seem they’ll be back for more than just a short guest appearance.
Shaughnessy admitted in the June 20 issue of Soap Opera Digest that he’d been offer one- and two-day stints here and there since he last appeared in Salem in 2013, but he wanted something more–and now he has it.
“When I got the call this time, I was told it would be a little more substantial, and it seemed like something that would be much more in line with what I wanted to do.”
For her part, Pease said she was absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to reprise her role as Kimberly Brady Donovan.
“When the show called me, I was jumping up and down,” she told Digest. “I couldn’t wait to work with Charlie again.”
There’s no word on exactly why Kim and Shane will make a return trip to Salem, but Shaughnessy teases it will be interesting.
“There are issues when Kim and Shane come back,” the actor said. “It’s not all wine and roses.”
Several weeks ago, Soap Hub reported that actor Larry Poindexter tweeted about returning as Father Louis and tagged Eric Martsolf, Shaughnessy, and Pease. A few days later, word came that actress Jen Lilley was leaving the show. As fans know, Lilley plays Kim and Shane’s daughter, Theresa. Her departure have many speculating Kim and Shane return for Theresa’s funeral.
With DAYS’ long taping lead time, we’ll have to wait till fall to find out why these two beloved characters arrive, as well as why they stay. Soap Hub will keep you updated as we learn more.
